It
was time for fashion, food and fun last week - and the parties were
plentiful. Festivities started with BC Fashion Week and its "Not Fit
for Print" launch gala, which was held at Buschlen Mowatt Fine Arts on
April 4. That was followed by a weekend of fashion shows at the
Scotiabank Dance Centre, plus after-parties galore at various venues
throughout the city. Celebrity foodie Caren McSherry celebrated the
re-opening of her Gourmet Warehouse store in its new East Hastings
location on April 5. And, if that wasn't enough, Canadian actor Dan
Aykroyd and a bunch of Harley Davidson enthusiasts teamed up for a
V.I.P. party at the Commodore Ballroom on April 9, promoting Patrón
Tequila and raising funds for Canucks Place Hospice. 1 Canadian comedy
legend Dan Aykroyd was spotted everywhere last week as part of his
Patrón Tequila promotion, but none of his numerous activities were as
important to him as the V.I.P. event at the Commodore, which was also a
fundraiser for Canucks Place Hospice. 2 Global TV news anchor Jill Krop

visual artist Tiko Kerr at the Gourmet Warehouse opening. 3 Decadent
bites and culinary delights were on the menu at the Gourmet Warehouse
opening, thanks to C Restaurant chef Robert Clark (left) and pastry
chef Thomas Haas.

for Print" gala were PR man Kenn Hamlin, Jason Sugar of sugarandsugar
gallery, and Kevin Lorage of Buschlen Mowatt galleries. 6 Diana Zoppa
of Odd Squad PR helped team up members of the Vancouver Police
Department with Harley
Davidson riders and Patrón promoter Walter High
at the Commodore/Aykroyd fundraising event.
